Last day in darwin

Friday 30 July

Wow it's almost august already!
I'm typing this on my phone so please excuse the typos!
We have been promised our tyres by this afternoon, so we are sitting in a shopping centre having lunch and buying food for the next week or so. It's quite limiting only buying enough to fit in the small fridge and car...especially when all the specials are for buying two of everything!
Yesterday we spent most of the day sorting out the roof rack, so late in the day we visited darwins fantastic free waterslide park. We were almost the only ones there, and had the best time! When the slides closed we had a BBQ dinner.

We are off to kakadu today so may not have any phone coverage for a week or so.

Hey there Cazz and Grant and boys. Finally read your blog so far and looked at your videos via youtube. I was laughing my head off at the velocast in the background of the riveting road video. Must show that one to matt, he will be thrilled! Looks like Grant has gone native with his mangy beard, kids looking very happy, but where are the pics of you my friend? Missing you and our walks, although I have shaken off my slothful attitude of late and recommenced the walking. The jogging lasted about 2 days. after which time I got a hurty knee so went back to the middle-aged woman's activity of brisk walking. Much more enjoyable and sensible. Good to be back at work, have been back 2 weeks now and it feels GOOD. Much more balanced again. Matty and I are off to Port Douglas Tues 3 Aug til Fri 6. Catching up with our Norwegian friends who are holidaying up there for their 10th wedding anniversary. Neighbours and Matt's Dad looking after the kids. Lovely! Everyone is well here, the boys are doing well with their footy. Today they are playing their first final against Kew Rovers. It is about 8 degrees and sheeting with rain, nasty cold wind as well just to make things really horrible. matt is out there, i am home with the other kids in the toasty warm house. Bet it is hard to imagine weather like that from where you are sitting. Hope the tyre is finally fixed and you guys are on your way to Kakadu. What a great time you must all be having.

Lots of love,

Di xxx
